Expatriates Over 60 Years Of Age Face Termination From Companies

20 January 2022 Expats

A number of expatriates over 60 years of age without a degree are losing their jobs as companies forced to terminated them as the uncertainty on their residency status continues.

According to Al-Rai Newspaper report, companies that terminated the jobs of their expat employees aged over 60 were forced to take this step in order to limit the risks of a long wait for the government’s decision.

As the issue of banning renewal of work permits for residents aged 60 and above is still awaiting a decision, residents who face layoffs are unable to find another job in the country, the report added.
