Exert Efforts To Strictly Implement Cleaning Contracts From Oct 11
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al- Shu’alah called upon Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng Ahmad Al- Manfouhi to instruct all departments and sectors of Kuwait Municipality to exert efforts in implementing the cleaning contracts starting from Oct 11, within the framework of seven applicable recommendations as rules for implementing the new contracts, reports Al-Rai daily.
In the letter sent by Al-Shu’alah, a number of important issues were highlighted such as the importance of abiding by the conditions in the contracts and following up the readiness of the cleaning companies, which signed the contracts with Kuwait Municipality, in executing the cleaning contracts.
The letter also stressed the importance of continuous coordination with the Legal Affairs Department, and preparation of the necessary reports in order to make sure the procedures taken are legal. It included directives for enhancing the follow-up of the work of relevant committees tasked to handover the equipment and machines.
The letter also had directives to urge the relevant departments to expedite handing over the storage areas to the contracting companies and issuing the required licenses. Al-Shu’alah insisted on preparing a Plan B which will come into play in case any of the contracting companies faces any troubles or obstacles that prevent it from fulfilling its commitments.
The letter included directives for speeding up the completion of preparing the special conditions and technical specifications required for direct contracting by the General Cleanliness Committee no later than Sept 1, so that these conditions can be presented to the concerned authorities for review and the necessary procedures can be completed as an alternative solution in case of any default.
