Encroachments Removed In Municipality Crackdown
Emergency Team Leader at the Kuwait Municipality branch in Hawally Governorate Ahmad Ramadan said the team removed 191 encroachments on State properties and 880 advertisement boards due to violations during a series of inspection campaigns carried out recently.
In a press statement, Ramadan revealed the team issued 164 warnings in relation to encroachment on State properties and two warnings concerning real estate properties. He urged the public to call the Municipality’s hotline number 139 or through its social media accounts in case they have complaints or to report violations. He confirmed that legal action will be taken once the complaints are received. Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality said the Capital Governorate branch issued 336 citations for advertising violations and collected KD5,500 for reconciliation orders in Aug 2018.
In a press statement, Director of the Violation Removal Department at the branch Abdullah Al-Jaber added the inspectors who worked in three shifts issued 327 citations for development violations, nine for construction violations, 45 for advertisement violations and four for encroaching on State properties. This is in addition to the issuance of 44 warnings and five orders. He also urged the owners of shops to follow the rules and regulations of the Municipality to avoid violations and fines. He added the collected amount – KD5,500 – came from reconciliation orders and referral of violation records to the Legal Department.
