Employment Opportunities For Kuwaiti Primary And Middle School Graduates, Retirees And Housewives
The Human Resources Development Committee at the National Assembly has approved the proposal of MP Ali Al-Deqbasi to provide job opportunities for Kuwaiti women, primary and middle school graduates, retirees and housewives, in cooperation with the Government and Manpower Restructuring Program (GMRP) and the executive authority of the State, reports Al-Anba daily.
After discussion and exchange of views, the committee unanimously approved the proposal. Al-Deqbasi pointed out in his proposal that the citizen is one of the most important pillars on which the State depends for prosperity and development.
With the increasing output of education, labor market needs and population growth; the problem of job creation for Kuwaitis has begun. Hundreds or even thousands of them are on the waiting list of the Civil Service Commission, he added. “Although jobs are available, they are occupied by our expatriate brethren whom we respect and appreciate. We do not deny their role in many areas, but the problem is that Kuwaitis are not employed, as jobs are given to expatriates, including safety and security jobs needed by all government departments.
“Some of these departments have employed nationals, such as the Ministry of Education and others in cooperation with GMRP, and the turnout was very huge. It reduces pressure on the Civil Service Commission and shortens the waiting list for applicants. “Therefore, I propose providing employment opportunities for Kuwaiti primary and middle school graduates, retirees and housewives, in cooperation with the GMRP, in order to address the employment crisis and achieve real gains for citizens,” the lawmaker explained.
