Employees Have The Freedom To Choose Their Working Hours During Ramadan.
The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), Muhammad Al-Enezi, has reportedly issued a circular to all MOCI employees, stating that they have the right to choose their working hours during the month of Ramadan. This is in accordance with the decision of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), as per reports from Al-Rai daily.
The CSC has announced that official working hours during Ramadan will be 4.5 hours per day, and will be flexible in the form of three shifts: 9:45 am to 2:15 pm, 10:15 am to 2:45 pm, and 10:45 am to 3:15 pm. Al-Enezi and the ministry's officials have agreed to a government initiative that grants each employee the right to choose their working hours according to their individual needs.
To facilitate this, MOCI has designated a website for employees to submit their preferred working hours during Ramadan. These applications will be reviewed and reconciled with the attendance and departure proof systems. The decision is aimed at providing employees with more comfort and raising their productivity during Ramadan. By allowing each employee to determine their working hours based on their specific circumstances, it is expected that the decision will not adversely affect the ministry's work.
The sources have confirmed that this decision has been studied comprehensively and that none of the three working hours will be favored over the others.
