The Criminal Court convicted an Egyptian tweeter for insulting the Amir and sentenced him to two years imprisonment with hard labor and to be deported after serving the sentence. The court also ordered the seizure of his cellphone, reports Al- Anba daily.

The Public Prosecutor had referred the accused to trial after he was charged with committing the offence on Twitter using his cellphone in contravention of the internal security laws and misusing information technology.

On the other hand, the Criminal Court, headed by Chancellor Ahmed El-Yassin, has sentenced a passenger to 7 years imprisonment and ordered him to pay 100 dinars to suspend the sentence for picking up a fight with one of the members of the cabin crew and fellow passengers after take-off and also damaged some of the contents. The security sources said this happened during a flight from Kuwait to Tehran and the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Iran.
