Egyptian Man Kills Wife, Sets Father-in-law On Fire
Local media reported that an Egyptian man, 48, allegedly slit the throat of his 38-year-old wife and set fire to his father-in-law when the latter filed a divorce case against him three years ago after abandoning his family.
After her husband left the family for three years without paying her any maintenance, the woman filed the case with the family court, forcing her to live with her father.
A report from the media stated that on the first day of Ramadan, the man wanted to go back home and reunite with his family, but the woman refused to go back with him, angering him. Therefore, he decided to kill his wife and her father at the age of 70 as a way to exact revenge on her. Following day, a gallon of gasoline and a knife are said to have been brought by him. He found his father-in-law praying when he entered his in-laws' house. His body was set on fire by pouring gasoline over it after he had been stabbed to death.
His wife's throat was slit by him when he rushed upstairs and attacked her.
After a manhunt, the police caught him after he had been on the run for some time.
