04 April 2019 Kuwait

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has coordinated with officials in the Egyptian Embassy to relocate the consulate from Al-Salaam suburb in South Surrah to a free zone in less than one month, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source.

The source affirmed that the ministry reassured the residents in Al-Salaam suburb and neighbors of the consulate on the relocation, and that it fully understands their concerns.

The source said the building was rented without the approval of neighbors, prompting the ministry to coordinate with the Egyptian officials and consulate regarding the relocation.

He added many options, such as commercial areas away from the residential areas, will be presented to the Egyptian officials. He praised the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Tariq Al-Qouni and other embassy officials for their cooperation.
