Drug Rehabilitation Center First Of Its Kind In Kuwait

The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to establish a drug rehabilitation center for drug addicts on a plot measuring 20,000 square meters in Amghara.

This center is the first of its kind which will address the phenomenon of drug abuse that has grown in recent times.

The addicts will be treated in therapeutic, educational and rehabilitative environment.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Authority, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Yousef, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf, Eng Farid Asad Emadi.

According to the agreement the Authority will allocate the land while “Awqaf” will play the role of logistical and administrative supervision and the organization of community awareness programs through its Rehabilitation and Evaluation Department.

The Ministry of Health will be entrusted with the responsibility of supervising the continuity of recovery programs by the addiction treatment center of the Ministry.
