Don’t Pester Relatives Of Debtors, Lawyers Told

The Kuwait Bar Association has warned the male and female lawyers not to contact the relatives of debtors repeatedly to demand payment of their debts, even though they are not parties to the debts, stressing that this behavior constitutes a serious breach of the code of honor and professional ethics, pointing out that the association will deal with these complaints firmly. They may even be referred to the Disciplinary Department.

The association said, in a statement, that it had received several complaints from citizens and residents in the recent period about the inconvenience caused by some lawyers and their office employees through repeated calls to demand payment or settlement of the debts of their indebted relatives, reports Al-Rai.
