Unaccredited Foreign Universities Shouldn't Be Enrolled In
Fatima Al-Sinan, assistant undersecretary for scholarships, equivalencies, and cultural relations at the Ministry of Higher Education, announced that Feb 28 is the last date for registering scholarship applications for excellence and direct dispatch for medical specialties. Al-Sinan emphasized that students who wish to study abroad need to obtain approval from the ministry's cultural offices before enrolling in any university. Moreover, he said that in the future, only accredited universities will be accepted in foreign missions, adding that a plan will be announced soon pertaining to foreign missions. Al-Sinan cautioned students not to become swayed by advertisements in which foreign universities are promoted as one of the best options. He said their academic careers will be seriously threatened if they enroll in universities that are not accredited by the authority, despite the fact that their admission will not be approved by cultural offices abroad.
To know more about procedures and requests related to foreign missions, Al-Sinan advised students and their parents to check the Ministry of Higher Education's website on social media on Twitter and Instagram. Al-Sinan explained that the accounts were created to provide students with instant answers to their inquiries concerning procedures, plans, certificates, and registrations without requiring them to visit the Ministry's headquarters. A campaign highlighting the mission's plans for this year will be launched by the Ministry of Higher Education via its social media accounts during March.
