Domestic Labor Offices Must Abide By Law No. 68/2015 To Avoid Temporary Closure
The Spokesperson for Public Authority for Manpower and Director of Public Relations Department Aseel Al-Mizyad stressed the need for owners of domestic labor recruitment agencies to abide by the provisions of Law No. 68/2015 to avoid closure of their agencies for three or six months.
In a press statement, Al- Mizyad affirmed the keenness of Public Authority for Manpower to spread awareness to the owners of such recruitment agencies regarding the reason why stickers are placed on the premises to indicate its closure due to its violation of article No. 24 of law No. 68/2015, which gives the director in charge of domestic labor department the authority to take administrative measures against domestic labor recruitment agencies in five cases.
She explained that the period of suspension is determined according to article 16 of resolution 2194 which gives the director of domestic labor sector the authority to temporarily suspend licenses of recruitment agency that is in violation of the law for three months in the event that this agency fails to honor the manpower department’s summon.
The period of suspension of recruitment agencies’ licenses for a period of six months is in the event that the agency signs employment contracts in violation of the contracts approved by the Department of Domestic Labor.
