Director Of Domestic Workers Insists That Expats Workers In Kuwait Enjoy Good Living Conditions And Excellent Medical Services
Director of Domestic Workers Affairs at Ministry of Interior Mohammed Al-Ajmi insists that expatriate workers in Kuwait enjoy good living conditions and excellent medical services.
In his speech during a ceremony organized at the United Nations House in Mishref to mark the International Migration Day, Al-Ajmi explained that Kuwait has issued several laws and legislations to organize the domestic workers sector and improve the living conditions of domestic workers. Law No. 86/2015 was aimed at issuing regulations to ensure domestic workers receive all their rights and that their conditions are improved.
This in turn have resulted in organization of the processes to ensure they are brought into the country only through licensed and accredited offices and concerned authorities. Al-Ajmi said, since the application of executive bylaws of the new domestic law, a sum of KD 13,150 of salaries of domestic workers has been recovered.
About 25 complaints, which were not solved by the Department of Domestic Workers at the Directorate General for Residency Affairs, have been referred to court.
