Digital Transformation, Government Smarts Are Important To Kuwait's Ciat
On Monday, Haya Al-Wadaani, Director of the Central Agency for Information Technology (CIAT), called for a faster implementation of the (Smart Government) project and digital transformation for the greater good of society.
As she stated during an opening speech at the Microsoft Smart Government Summit 2022, a delay in transforming the government into a digital one would affect economic and development plans all over the country.
Application of digital transformation will benefit many ongoing projects and initiatives carried by the (CIAT) and (Microsoft) such as the (Center of Excellence for Cloud Computing), Al-Wadaani explained.
KUNA reported that Alaoudin Kareem, director general of (Microsoft), said this conference supports the digital transition through participation in the latest technologies and developments. The event is intended to discuss the programs and services that many government agencies have provided during the past three years, especially in the area of electronic services, as well as the latest technologies that can be applied in the next stage efficiently and effectively.
A second source told KUNA that the Central Agency for Information Technology had announced the launch of a new initiative known as Massar. This initiative aims to provide a roadmap to help government agencies transform their internal processes in order to become digitally capable.
It is planned that "Massar" initiative will target 30 government agencies under the next six months, involving workshops aimed at identifying priorities, interests, and specializations of agencies involved. Through the initiative, government agencies and services will be more effective and productive, better serving citizens and residents.
Dr. Rana Al-Faris, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Communications and Information Technology, opened the conference.
