Dgdc Seizes Hashish, Drug Pills ,procedures Underway To Deport 10 People
The Directorate General for Drugs Control (DGDC) headed by Acting Director General Colonel Waleed Al-Duraie recorded six cases of smuggling of drugs and brain stimulants during the period between March 9 and March 10. It arrested five Arabs and six Asians including a woman for their involvement in these cases. Procedures are underway for deporting ten of the arrested individuals.
In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the Public Relations and Security Media Department revealed that a total of about 18 kilograms of hashish, 11,000 narcotic pills known as ‘Captagon’, 250 grams of marijuana, 170 grams of heroin and 140 grams of crystal meth, locally known as ‘Shabu’, were confiscated. It indicated that DGDC received complaints about three drug addicts who were referred to the rehabilitation center.
Meanwhile, customs officers at Abdali border checkpoint arrested the driver of a heavy vehicle for attempting to smuggle 13,270 narcotic pills into the country. According to security sources, the drug pills were hidden in a metal pipe inside the truck that arrived at the border checkpoint from Iraq. The driver was referred with the confiscated narcotic pills to the concerned authorities for necessary measures to be taken.
The Ministry of Interior in coordination with the Kuwait Coast Guard and the General Administration of Drugs Control has arrested a network of three Egyptians and an Indian for attempting to smuggle into the country drugs from Iran, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added, the Indian was caught red-handed while pulling the drug from the seabed of the Island of Ouha with the help of fishing net. The interrogations with the suspect that followed led to the arrest of the three Egyptian accomplices. During interrogation they admitted to receiving the drugs in international waters from an Iranian dealer.
