Demand Grows To Open Malls & Markets After 8 Pm – ‘let Vaccinated In’

05 July 2021 Kuwait

There are increased demands to allow the opening of complexes and other outlets at night to those who have been vaccinated. This comes at a time when it is necessary to encourage all segments of the society to register quickly to receive vaccinations, and to give those who are vaccinated more benefits, reports Al-Qabas daily. Several MPs, attorneys and doctors believe that the decision to close complexes and other outlets at 8:00 pm is pointless and raises questions about its purpose. They said, “If the Council of Ministers allows entry during the day to those who are vaccinated against COVID-19 virus, then what is the justification for preventing them at night?” They stressed, “This virus has become a reality in the whole world. We must live with it and take steps that will pave the way for a return to normal life and reduce the rate of economic losses.”

Many of the restaurant owners expressed dissatisfaction with the decisions that they believe are “complicating issues”. They said, “Many are unable to travel during the summer and have to stay in this country. This means they would need some means of entertainment and activities especially for young people, children and families.” Observers of the epidemiological developments in the country stressed that, “The concerned authorities are contradicting themselves by insisting on the closure, which contributes to congestion in various facilities during the day. Increasing the number of working hours allows to distribute the numbers over longer periods and will reduce crowding.” A member of the National Office for Human Rights Ali Al-Baghli explained that, “Some of the decisions of the Ministry of Health in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis are confl icting and illogical from the beginning. None of the sisterly or friendly countries took such decisions. The decision to close complexes and other outlets at 8:00 pm should be reviewed, and amended to allow closure at 10:00 pm or 12:00 midnight, especially restaurants.
