Decline Continues In Covid Cases; Airport Traffic Hits 10,000

The epidemiological situation in the country continues to improve, after overcoming the most difficult period since the Corona pandemic hit the whole world, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources. Sources cited the positive indicators entail that the operating capacity of Kuwait International Airport is approaching 10,000 passengers; especially after the successful implementation of the resumption plan, including the return of a large percentage of citizens from summer vacation and allowing the return of expatriates. “No relapse in the epidemiological situation has been recorded so far,” sources stressed.

Sources disclosed the Health Ministry and other concerned authorities have triumphed over major challenges as follows: resumption of airport operations, openness of the country for more than four months now and revival of the economy through gradual and safe resumption of various commercial activities, dealing with Husseiniya councils during the month of Muharram, successful vaccination campaign – more than 80 percent of the target population have taken one dose while more than 75 percent have taken two doses; and reopening of schools. Sources pointed out the reopening of schools actually started in June when the 12th grade students took paper exams according to the plan of the health authorities.
