Customs Counselor Issued Circular To All Land, Sea And Air Ports To Tighten Customs Procedures

Director General of Customs Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi has issued a circular to all land, sea and air ports to tighten customs procedures and security controls on passengers and goods entering the country, reports Al Rai daily. Al-Jalawi stressed the need to raise the level of readiness and take all precautionary and preventive measures in customs inspection procedures. He pointed to the importance of using modern customs inspection devices and equipment of the Customs Impact Unit (police dogs) to support the human element in confronting threats. Measures have been implemented in the wake of the delicate Arab and regional situation characterized by lack of stability in some areas, spread of terrorism, violence, extremism and advanced smuggling methods, in addition to terrorist threats against the Arab region.
