Customs Assures Provision Of All Facilities For Covid-19 Vaccine Arrival

The Director-General of the General Administration of Customs Jamal Al-Jalawi affirmed that the customs will provide all necessary facilities for the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine, reports Al-Anba daily.

He said this during a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and express transportation companies.

Al-Jalawi explained that all the necessary facilities will be provided, either in terms documents or procedures, including expediting the customs clearance through pre-release to maintain the safety and quality of the vaccines in accordance with health requirements, and to preserve public money, with an emphasis on the transportation companies to commit to providing health releases approved by the Ministry Health in order to expedite the procedures related to clearance, transportation, storage and combating of illegal trade.

Coordination with the concerned authorities was agreed on along with an emphasis on the presence of the General Administration of Customs around the clock to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and DGCA. These bodies offered to cooperate in responding to all inquiries and procedures that will be submitted by their representatives. The mechanism in terms of transportation and clearance of the COVID-19 vaccine was agreed upon.
