Customers Frustrated Due To The Skyrocketed Prices Of Tents
The tent market did not wait for the beginning of the spring camp season before increasing the prices of tents, which range from KD 200 to KD 6,000 based on size and quality, reports Al- Rai daily.
Perhaps, visitors to the tent market in Shuwaikh area can understand the feeling of happiness in the tent seller and frustration of the customer due to the skyrocketed prices.
A shop assistant said the price of tents starts from KD 300 and up to KD 3,000 according to size and quality. Another worker identified as Amir said good-quality tents are made of waterproof tissue with lining of three layers. He explained the second hand tent market witness great numbers due to the relatively low prices ranging from KD 80 to KD 200.
For his part, Muhammad Nour Al-Amin said the tents he sells range from KD 250 and KD 6,000. He added the season is yet to begin as they are waiting for the announcement of Kuwait Municipality to start camping, hoping it will be a profitable season to compensate for losses incurred in the recession and summer.
Another tent seller Narin pointed out that the skyrocketing prices of tents is as a result of good quality of the product. Several customers called for the tent market to provide important amenities such as toilets and paved roads. They requested intensive monitoring of the market to control prices while checking licenses of the shops.
