Ctc Informs Mpw About Initial Approval To Convert 13 Tenders Into Limited Tenders

25 August 2017 Kuwait

in a move to overcome the “flying gravel” crisis, the Central Tenders Committee (CTC) has informed Ministry of Public Works about its initial approval to convert 13 tenders for maintenance into limited tenders.

According to sources from the ministry, CTC was addressed to adopt this step in order to overcome the problem of delays in signing contracts so that ministry can start maintenance works.

They explained that they are expecting CTC to inform the ministry of its formal and official approval within days, after which the companies will be invited to submit their technical and financial offers within a period of 20 days only. After the expiry of this period, the technical and financial offers presented will be reviewed in preparation for awarding to the lowest bidders. Then, the signing of contracts and commencement of implementation will happen before the rainy season.

The daily, in its recent issue, had criticized the delays in the signing of contracts earmarked to overcome the “flying gravel crisis” because of the snail’s pace in implementation of the regulatory procedures.

It called on the relevant parties to join forces and prevent the recurrence of the crisis especially with the rainy season fast approaching and the ministry’s need for sufficient time to complete its work.
