Csc Asks State Institutions To Determine Number Of Expats As It Enters Final Stage Of Kuwaitization
The Civil Service Commission has asked the government agencies to determine the number of expatriate employees working in each job category to help it implement the Kuwaitization of jobs policy in the fifth and final stage.
Al-Qabas has learned, the CSC, in a letter to government institutions has warned saying if the replacement policy is not adhered to, the budget of non-compliant agencies will be frozen.
In the letter the CSC also indicated that it is preparing an annual study for the implementation of the provisions of Resolution No. 11 of 2017 regarding the rules and procedures for Kuwaitization of jobs in all government agencies, for the fifth year to complete the replacement policy.
The CSC has attached tables of 17 different functional groups mentioned in the aforementioned decision, and called on the authorities to specify the number of workers in each functional group, whether Kuwaiti or non-Kuwaiti, pointing out that in light of the authority’s statement, the number of non-Kuwaiti employees will be reduced to reach a percentage of the number of Kuwaitis set by the Kuwaitization decision.
The CSC added, in the event that the required statement is not received from any institution, the CSC will address the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary measures to freeze contracts in the entity’s draft budget as of July 1, 2022.
