Former Kuwaiti Parliamentary Candidate Sentenced To 3 Years Jail For Attacking Saudi

A former parliamentary candidate has been sentenced to jail for three years over his hostile comments on Saudi Arabia.

A Kuwaiti Court convicted Mohammed Khalid Al-Hajeri of defaming Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The Kuwaiti national Assembly confirmed the court ruling in a tweet posted on its official account, reported Al Marsd.

The police arrested Al-Hajeri on May 20 and referred to competent legal authorities. He was put on trial and sentenced to jailed 24 hours.

The convict is also known for his attacks on the Arab Quartet- Saudi, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt- criticising their decision to boycott Qatar.
