Court Sentenced Mp To 7 Yr Imprisonment For Allegedly Tricking Woman To Having Sex With Him

05 December 2017 Crime News

Court sentenced MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaie to seven-year imprisonment with hard labor for allegedly tricking a woman into having sex with him. The court dismissed civil aspect of the petition.

The presiding judge explained that the accused, as a Professor of Islamic Sharia as well as a lawmaker, treaded in a path unbefitting his status by indulging in such a devilish act.

The MP succumbed to his physical urges so much that he forgot about the sanctity of the religion and exploited the trust of the victim by deceiving her into believing that their marriage had been registered at the Legal Documentation Department.

The MP hid facts about the non-registration of the marriage from the woman until the time she demanded for alimony, following their supposed divorce, through the family lawsuit No. 187/2016.

The lawmaker had presented a divorce document dated June 4, 2013, which led the lower court to dismiss the case on July 24, 2016.

This verdict was appealed by the victim and she finally received fair judgment. Meanwhile, the plaintiff counsel Lawyer Mohammad Al-Otaibi, in his Twitter account, disclosed that his client received justice when the court was convinced that the crime was actually committed against her.
