Court Sentenced Four Kuwaiti Citizens To Imprisonment For Joining Daesh
The Criminal Court sentenced four Kuwaiti citizens to imprisonment on charges of joining the banned organization called DAESH and plotting to commit terror attacks in Kuwait. The citizen who was arrested in the Philippines was sentenced to 15 years in prison and the three other citizens received sentences ranging from three to ten years in prison. The court acquitted a Syrian national, who is the fourth defendant in the case
According to the case file, the Public Prosecution charged the first, second, third and fourth suspects of joining DAESH. It charged the first, second and third suspects of manufacturing explosives and taking photographs of a mosque at Sulaibikhat and a church in Abdali area.
The first suspect was charged with training the second suspect to manufacture explosives. He was also charged with forging a Syrian passport with the cooperation of the fourth suspect (the Syrian national) who gave an unknown individual $1,500 for replacing his photograph in his passport with the photograph of the first suspect in order for the latter to use it to move around and join the fight.
The seventh suspect was charged with possessing a Kalashnikov and seven bullets without obtaining a license. Except for the first suspect, all other suspects were arrested in Saad Al-Abdullah City in April 2017 following the arrest of the first suspect in the Philippines and his disclosure of information about the rest of the suspects during interrogations.
