Court Sentenced A Man To Life Imprisonment For Smuggling 100 Kg Of Hashish

The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict of a lower court which sentenced a man to life imprisonment for smuggling 100 kilograms of hashish aboard a vessel from Iran, reports Al-Anba daily. The court instead acquitted him due to lack of evidences. Even though the drugs were seized in bags inside a cargo of apples onboard the vessel, the arresting officer denied seeing the suspect among others. The case papers were also void of any evidences to prove his involvement.
