Court Rejects Request To End Detention

The Court of Appeals decided to refer the former assistant undersecretary for Training Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah to the Central Prison after he surrendered himself to the authority. The court rejected the request to end the detention of the defendants in the case related to the Bangladeshi MP. It set the session of March 14 to summon the investigation officer, reports Al-Rai daily.

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution ordered the arrest of Sheikh Mazen Al- Jarrah in a new case in which he was accused of money laundering. It also ordered the arrest of the accused Nawaf Al- Mutairi in connection with the same case. On the other hand, the investigation committee in the ministerial court ordered the extension of the detention of former minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah until March 14.
