The Court of Cassation overturned verdicts issued by the Court of First Instance and Court of Appeals, and ordered a family counsel to pay KD680,000 in favor of heirs of an estate.

Lawyer Sultan Al-Tawalah, on behalf of the heirs filed a lawsuit and explained that the respondent – in his capacity as the family lawyer, got the power of attorney that enabled him to withdraw a sum of KD680,000 in transactions that involved withdrawal and deposit.

Heirs of the estate requested to see the statement of account for those transactions, but the man declined to cooperate, which prompted them to file the case they lost at two lower courts. Al-Tawalah appealed the case at the apex court to get justice for the family. He emphasized that his clients have the right to know details of the transactions being heirs of the estate.
