18 April 2016 Kuwait

The Civil Court ordered a female Kuwaiti employee to pay KD 5,001 temporary civil compensation to her colleague for the damages she caused when she poured hot water on the face and hands of the latter. According to the plaintiff’s counsel – Attorney Abdul-Aziz Al-Benwan, the Court of Appeals declared his client innocent of alleged physical attack and insult on the defendant who was found guilty but the court restrained from imposing penalty. He explained both employees were in the office when the defendant poured hot water that burnt the face and hands of his client, in addition to verbal attacks. He supported his claim with documents which included the medical report showing his client recovered within 30 days. The court later granted his request for KD 5,001 temporary compensation.
