The Misdemeanor Court presided over by Judge Al-Duwaihi Al-Duwaihi ordered a man to pay fine worth KD 500 for putting up for sale counterfeit famous branded coffee products.

The Public Prosecution had charged the suspect of deceiving contracting parties last year by producing counterfeit coffee products that carry a famous and registered trademark of a Kuwaiti coffee company.

During the court session, the counsel to the Kuwaiti coffee company Lawyer Mohammed Khalil Al-Qattan affirmed that the owner of the trademark is the one who registers a product which no one has, adding that those who knowingly sell or put up for sale a product that has a fake trademark has committed a crime.
