The Appellate Circuit of the Commercial Court has ordered an insurance company to pay KD 30,000 to the driver of a vanette who had sustained injuries that resulted in 43 percent disability in a traffic accident. In a lawsuit filed by Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan on behalf of the victim, he said the criminal judgment affirmed about the mistake committed by the respondent through which his client sustained serious injuries and that he should receive compensation. He revealed that his client has disabilities declared at 43 percent, which resulted in his inability to work for several months, as well as material damages. Lawyer Al-Qattan stressed that the Prosecution had charged the respondent as the first suspect in the incident. He explained that the defendant had shifted from his lane without checking if the lane was clear. This resulted in the collision of his vehicle with the victim’s vehicle, which caused the victim’s car to swerve and crash into a cement block.
