Court Dismissed A Petition For Cancellation Of Legal Expenses Worth 2 Million Dinars

20 July 2017 Crime News

The Court of Cassation upheld the decision of Appeals Court and dismissed a petition filed by former board of directors of a shareholding company for cancellation of legal expenses worth two million dinars.

The former board of directors was ordered by the court to pay a sum of KD 2 million in attorney’s fee for what the shareholding company considered ‘personal’ lawsuit.

Lawyer Ali Al-Attar from the office of Lawyer Meshari Al-Esaimi argued the former board of directors paid the sum in a lawsuit that had nothing to do with company business, indicating the litigation rather involved shareholders and membership of the board of directors. He implored the court to oblige the former board of directors to reimburse the sum to the company.
