19 November 2016 Crime News

The Fourth Civil Division of the Court of Appeals upturned the verdict of the Court of First Instance, which dismissed a lawsuit filed by a Kuwaiti citizen over the travel ban placed on him due to unfulfilled financial obligation to a Kuwaiti businessman.

The appellate court has consequently ordered removal of the travel ban. According to Lawyer Khawlah Mubarak Al-Hassawi who had filed the case on behalf of the appellant, the businessman requested for a travel ban on his client to guarantee payment of the debt.

He established facts indicating inability of his client to pay the debt right away, insisting that his client cannot evade justice because his entire family, including his wife and children are inside the country.

Lawyer Al-Hassawi said there was no previous complaint against his client, and that he had already agreed to payment of the debt in installments
