Court Acquitted Two Youths Who Were Accused For Abuse Of Chemical Drug

The Criminal Court acquitted two youths who were accused of resisting arrest when apprehended for abuse of “Chemical” drug. According to the case file, the traffic officer, while patrolling Damascus Street in Surra area, spotted the suspects following a young woman who was driving a Ferrari. He signaled them to pull over in order to fine them for violating a traffic rule. The driver presented the traffic officer with a military ID and told him he did not carry any other document. During interrogations, the officer noticed drugs in the vehicle and asked the youths to step out of the vehicle but they resisted and in the process the officer sustained an injury to his hand. The defense counsel Lawyer Abdullah Al-Alanda called for invalidation of the investigations conducted by Public Prosecution, and the arrest and search procedures due to lack of justifications and incriminating evidences.
