04 April 2017 Crime News

The Court of Appeals yesterday acquitted the former MP Musallam Al-Barrak of charges of insulting and offending the former Head of the Judiciary Committee Judge Faisal Al-Murshid. Previously, the Public Prosecution had charged Al-Barrak of offending Judge Al-Murshid, even though the defendant denied the charges, claiming irregularities in them. According to the case files, the Misdemeanor Court had fined Al-Barrak KD 150 for the charges leveled against him, which involved insults and defamation. However, the defense insisted that the prosecution did not submit any substantial evidence to back the claims.
