21 February 2017 Crime News

The Criminal Circuit of the Court of First Instance acquitted an Egyptian minor who was accused of raping his Egyptian friend (a male) with the help of another friend after deceiving the victim by convincing to give him a ride but instead taking him to his house where the victim was sodomized under threat.

The Public Prosecution accused the Egyptian minor of rape. During the court session, the defense counsel Lawyer Ali Matar Al-Wawan explained that the plaintiff and his client are friends. The car ride was planned by both parties and his client did not force the plaintiff to accompany him to his house.

He stressed that his client denied all accusations from the start, adding that the case file lacks any evidences against him. Lawyer Al-Wawan indicated that the plaintiff did not have any proof to support his claims about being kidnapped and raped. He stressed that the investigation report neither supported the claims of the plaintiff nor proved that they were false, which means there is no evidence to support the plaintiff, urging the court to acquit his client.
