Court Acquitted A Married Man And A Divorced Woman Who Were Accused Of Being Involved In An Adulterous Affair

The Criminal Court acquitted a married Kuwaiti man and a divorced Kuwaiti woman, who were accused of being involved in an adulterous affair. The Public Prosecution accused the married Kuwaiti man of committing adultery with the divorced Kuwaiti woman. Both are above 21 years of age and the woman cannot be considered as marriageable to the man. However, during the court session, the defense counsel Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al- Qattan said the conditions for the crime do not exist and the law does not punish those who carried out an action with good intention as allowed by the relevant law. He insisted that marriage between his clients is in line with the conditions of Sharia (Islamic Law).
