Court Acquitted A Kuwaiti Woman And Sentenced Her Son To 5 Year Imprisonment

The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Nasser Salem Al-Heid upheld the verdict issued by the Criminal Court which acquitted a Kuwaiti woman and sentenced her son “Abu Turab” to five-year imprisonment, as well as suspended the case against her other son who was sentenced in absentia to ten-year imprisonment. The Criminal Court had sentenced Abu Turab, who had returned from Syria and was accused to joining DAESH, to five-year imprisonment with hard labor, and ordered to put him in police custody. It sentenced his brother, who was reported dead in Syria, to ten-year imprisonment with hard labor, and acquitted their mother of all charges. Abu Turab had confessed to all the charges and his mother denied joining the terrorist organization.
