Court Acquitted A Kuwaiti Man For Smuggling Cocaine Into The Country

21 December 2015 Kuwait

The Criminal Court chaired by Judge Metab Al-Ardi acquitted a Kuwaiti man of smuggling cocaine into the country through Kuwait International Airport with the intention of selling it, says Al- Seyassah. The Public Prosecution Department charged the suspect for smuggling illicit substance without official permission, given that he’s an ex-convict. He is alleged to have smuggled the contraband in violation of law since evaded customs tariff. Defense Counsel Sabr Al-Anzi faulted the procedures leading to arrest of his client, because the concerned officer did not secure warrant for his arrest. He argued that the defendant did not exhibit any traces of suspicion, thus the second suspect did not have any link with the incident.
