The Misdemeanor Court acquitted a citizen of dodging the mandatory military service (conscription) after it was verified that he was outside the country for educational purpose.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendant for escaping the conscription due to failure to register for the service within sixty days of attaining age eighteen.

The prosecution prayed the court to punish him in line with Articles 1/1 and 2 of law no. 20/2015 concerning the conscription and ensuing punishment, which is in line with Article 42 of the same law.

According to Lawyer Abdul- Mohsen Al-Qattan, father of the defendant explained that his son had been out of the country since July 2017 to study and obtained a letter of permission from the Directorate of Kuwaiti Army.
