Court Acquitted 3 Kuwaitis Of Possessing And Consuming Drugs
The Criminal Court acquitted three Kuwaiti citizens who were accused of possessing and consuming drugs. According to the testimony of the arresting officer, he and his colleague were on duty at the police station when they saw the three citizens passing by the station in a disoriented state.
He approached them and asked for their civil IDs, but they said their civil IDs were in the car. He then accompanied them to the car to see the civil IDs. When the first suspect was taking his wallet, a small red tube and a circular golden container fell on the ground.
He then saw some plastic sachets inside the vehicle and asked the suspect to open them. When he saw the pills, he asked the suspect about them, and the latter said the narcotic pills belong to them.
The officer then arrested the suspects and confiscated the items found in the vehicle. During the court session, the defense counsel Lawyer Ali Al-Wawan said the search-and-arrest procedures were illegal due to which the consequent procedures including the urine and blood tests cannot be taken into consideration for the trial.
He said the confession of his client concerning the possession of the drugs to the Public Prosecutor also cannot be taken into consideration since the charges against his clients are not valid.
