29 May 2017 Crime News

The Misdemeanor Court of Cassation acquitted two Ministry of Education employees of allegedly causing a huge loss of funds in their offices. The Public Prosecution Department charged both employees of committing serious errors through which their respective offices lost huge sums. The employees allegedly caused loss of KD 193,000 due to their nonchalant attitudes. The Court of Appeals sentenced the employees to three years in prison and KD 20,000 fine, although the Court of First Instance had earlier acquitted them. Defense Lawyer Mohammad Hamza filed an appeal against the ruling, urging the court to crush the judgment. He blamed the appellate court for judging in error.
