Cooperation Between Un-mew Concerning Power And Water Sustainability

Director of Energy Efficiency and Rationalization Department at Ministry of Electricity and Water Eng Iqbal Al-Tayyar revealed about the ongoing cooperation between the ministry and the United Nations in terms of sustainable development, reports Aljarida daily.

She indicated that the ministry recently submitted details of its successful projects concerning water and energy sustainability to a UN representative including the ministry’s future projects such as the project of laboratory that will be built with highest quality to preserve water.

Eng Al-Tayyar revealed that the ministry presented details of its plans and projects related to power stations and new units as well as production ability of water and electricity, affirming that Kuwait is one among the countries that are concerned with sustainability of resources.

She highlighted the increase in electricity capacity in the stations by 40 percent from the year 2011 to June 2018, revealing that 5418.2MW has been added to the network through the project in Subbiya Station with increase of 2009MW in 2012, and the project in North Zour Station with increase of 307MW in 2014 as well as another project in Subbiya Station with increase of 500MW in 2015.
