Compulsory Quarantine And 2 Pcr Tests For Arrivals Under Consideration

20 December 2021 Coronavirus

The Council of Ministers in an emergency meeting today are expected to consider implementing a decision of compulsory home quaratine with two PCR tests for all arrivals in the country as a measure to contain the spread of the new Omicron virus.

Arabic daily Al Qabas quoting sources said the meeting will stress on the need to honor health protocols, especially in closed public places such as hotels, malls, cinemas, transportation, weddings halls and restaurants.

In the event the visitors are found not respecting health precautions, the owners of the establishments will be held responsible for ensuring commitment of these health protocols.

The sources added the “Omicron” cases will inevitably increase in the country, which is but natural matter because the mutant has spread over 89 countries around the world, and preventing its entry needs to close the land and air ports, which is not expected to be done in the current situation, but its risks will be reduced through the third dose and commitment to health measures.

The sources stated the “Corona Emergency Committee” will be attended by personnel from the Ministry of Interior, Health and the Municipality to control the process of health requirements such as wearing masks, mobilizing efforts to fight the spread of “Omicron” and taking legal measures against those who do not adhere to health requirements in any vital place.
