The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) issued two citations against an unidentified expatriate for storing foodstuff and eggs in violation of health regulations and selling food items unfit for human consumption, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added this happened when a minor fire broke out in the house of the suspect in Khaitan.

The expatriate has been referred to the Public Prosecution pursuant to the penalties stipulated in PAFN Law number 112 of 2013. Personnel from the authority have called on citizens to cooperate and refrain from leasing their properties for illegal purposes.

The authority has also urged citizens and expatriates to notify inspection departments in the governorates in case they witness any similar violations in private houses in the interest of the public.
