Chief Of Mission At Iom Expressed Delight Over The Excellent Concerted Efforts Of Kuwait

30 March 2018 Kuwait

Chief of Mission at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Dr Iman Eraiqat expressed delight over the excellent concerted efforts of Kuwait to eradicate the crime of human trafficking.

Dr Eraiqat said this recently during the closing ceremony of a workshop titled “Empowering Border Security Officers to Protect Human Trafficking Victims”, which was organized by IOM in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kuwait. She said the workshop was aimed to empower officers at the borders for that purpose.

Dr Eraiqat praised the consistent partnership of the organization with Ministry of Interior. She explained that the current project is the 31st event that portrays such excellent partnership. These events are aimed at increasing awareness and extending international experiences concerning human trafficking victims.

Countries are measured by procedures undertaken to counter human trafficking, which exists in every country. This means the act of using minors and child labor exists at different levels in all countries that export, import or use goods for production. Dr Eraiqat reiterated that the existence or non-existence of this practice is not used to evaluate countries.
