Check-ups Mandatory Before Rejoining Defense Services

Ministry of Defence (MoD) personnel returning from leave have been ordered to undergo medical tests before rejoining services.  

The mandatory health check-ups, which come into force starting next week, will be conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH). The compulsory medical tests come in the wake of the decision by the MoH to test several military personnel who were on vacation in countries where COVID-19 infection has spread. The results were later submitted to security unit at the MoD, which decided that all defense staff returning from leave would need to get a clean-chit from MoH before rejoining service.

In the event of any military personnel ignoring the order and not submitting to medical check-ups they would not be allowed to rejoin the ministry and would be considered to be absent from duty, in addition to facing legal measures
