The Court of Cassation presided over by Judge Muhammad Al-Khalaf convicted the director general of a charitable organization affiliated to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, but it refrained from issuing punishment against the defendant who was accused of attempting to lure a woman into committing immoral acts via WhatsApp.

According to the case file, the lower court had sentenced the defendant to three-month imprisonment with hard labor and imposed a fine of KD 2,000. The case was filed by the plaintiff through her counsel Lawyer Ali Haydar.

In his statement to the daily, Lawyer Haydar explained that his client visited the defendant in an attempt to secure her daily humanitarian aid. During her visit to the defendant’s office, he attempted to entice her into committing immoral acts with him after he started making sexual advances towards her and later asked her to marry him – a proposal which she rejected.
