Kttaa Chairman Criticizes Abrupt Decision To Ban Expats From 31 Countries Without Prior Notice

Under the pandemic situation the decision was taken by Kuwait government to ban travel from 31 countries. Today Mohammad Al-Muthairi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Travel and Tourism Agencies Association revised their prior decision to ban citizens of 31 countries from coming back to Kuwait, and said that this decision was totally a surprise without any prior notice and unjustified.

He stressed that the it was a hasty decision not studied properly without considering the size of Kuwait on the international scene”.

The Chairman also highlighted that, “During the COVID-19 emergency no other countries around the globe has taken such a rude step like cancellation of flights and disruption of passengers’ interests.

He condemns about issuing this decision “specially at such a crucial time and on the morning of the day of flight resumption without giving any prior notification to the passengers, despite the fact that the date for opening the air terminal economically was known over a month and a half ago”, reports Aljarida every day

The Chairman also asked, “Is this only about cancellation of tickets?” and what about how those people will be compensated who had cancelled their residencies, handed over their apartments, and sold their vehicles.
