Cgc Refutes Rumors Of Cancelation Of Vaccination Decision For Travelers

05 May 2021 Kuwait

There is no decision to cancel the mandatory vaccination requirements for Kuwaiti travelers, and there is no truth to any claims, said the Center for Government Communication (CGC), Al-Anba daily reported. Passengers to and from Kuwait International Airport will continue to adhere to strict health regulations, and those vaccinated Kuwaitis who wish to travel abroad from May 22, can continue to do so.

A travel ban was imposed on Kuwaitis and their first degree relatives and domestic helpers, who fail to get vaccinated. This ban will go into effect from May 22.

The regulations in place at the airport include coronavirus testing, purchasing health insurance covering the costs of treatment in case of coronavirus infections, home quarantine and registration on the Kuwait Traveler platform Kuwait Mosafer.

There are ongoing awareness campaigns being conducted on the importance of vaccinations to stem the spread of the coronavirus and hasten the return to normal life.

With regard to the partial curfew, the sources revealed that the Council of Ministers will decide on the matter tomorrow or next Monday. The decision may be passed to end the curfew by the end of Ramadan or extending it again, if the indicators in the country do not show positive signs.

The curfew has been in effect since March 7, and was extended at the beginning of April as a measure against the coronavirus and due to worsening coronavirus infection rates and death tally.
